We wanted to say how grateful we are for all your support and enthusiasm for Lyric since starting this past July.
We started Lyric because we were frustrated that there was no great place for artists and makers to sell their work online. There were traditional marketplaces that pulled in traffic but who put their brands first and commoditized the work being sold. And there were shop-building tools that helped with nice websites, but still required sellers to make significant efforts around marketing and design. Why can’t we have both — a platform that helps grow your business and respects your autonomy?
As we were exploring this idea, we realized how powerful it is to sell in community with others. That’s how the real world works. Communities of people coming together and supporting one another through recommendations, expos and markets, and just real-world camaraderie. We wanted to see if we could help people find that kind of supportive community online too.
That’s what we’ve been building for the last six months. And the evidence so far is that it’s working. Artists and makers from across the country are setting up stores, building communities, and making sales on Lyric – more sales, in some cases, than they’ve ever made online before.
Thank you for a great 2024. We’re humbled and honored by your decision to take a chance on us. We have a long way to go to build out our vision, but we’re excited to do it with you.
